Can you shrink your SQL Server database to death? 
(Michelle Gutzait) Too often I see people creating SQL Server maintenance plans and customized jobs for shrinking the database files (data and/or T-Log) periodically. I always recommend to my clients and colleagues not to shrink database files, especially on a regular basis, before they investigate the cause of the database's growth.
