RE: Review: SQLAnswers Mail for SQL Server
by Dave Jakubiak (posted: 2/8/2006 3:38:32 PM)
I had been struggling with getting our SQL-Servers to send email. As Stephen mentions in his article, trying to configure an email profile to work with SQL Agent, etc. was a real pain. I thought I would take a chance with SQLAnswersMail and see what it could do. I was extremely pleased with the product. Not only would it do everything I want it to and then some, but the price was right, too. I make use of the "on-the-fly" sql statement processing to send our IT team daily helpdesk performance statistics. You can string several T-sql statements one after the other and have the results all neatly packaged into one email. Installation and configuration was a snap and it worked the first time. I'm sold on it.
