Create Rolling Window Reports Using Reporting Services

(Ben Taylor) A rolling window report is a common request in most database applications. A rolling window report is one where the report presents historical data based on a point in time. Some common rolling windows are reports such as "Last Three Months", "Last Four Quarters", "Last Two Years".The amount of summarization is open to the requirements of the end user. Aggregation for periods of Seconds, Minutes, Hours, Days, Weeks, Months, Quarters, Years are not uncommon. In this article I demonstrate one method to present a rolling window of data based on a point of reference using a single report definition and two stored procedures.
