DB2 for z/OS Performance Tuning

 Article Abstract:

(Craig Mullins) Assuring optimal performance is one of the biggest challenges for DB2 DBAs. The loudest complaints about poor performance usually come from those users who must wait longer than normal for their applications to respond. No one likes waiting, especially if you are not accustomed to waiting.

Assuring optimal performance requires vigilant monitoring and tuning of all components of the database applications. This includes monitoring the database system, database structures, and the SQL and application code itself.

This article offers a high-level discussion of the components of performance tuning at each of these levels.
