RE: SQL Server 2000 Clustering Pros and Cons (posted: 10/27/2004 9:23:02 AM) CON : A SQL 2000 SP3 Machine cannot be joined to an existing cluster. This can make FullText maintenance a nightmare for extensive FT Indexes.
Does anyone have experience with the PolyServe Clustering solution? http://www.polyserve.com I've been considering this solution.
I am excited about FullText enhancements with SQL 2K5, but I've also heard that clustering is not changing much or at all with SQL 2K5.
RE: SQL Server 2000 Clustering Pros and Cons (posted: 10/27/2004 6:00:46 PM) Clustering does not protect against logical data corruption or failure of the disk pack, as the same disks are shared between both nodes.
