I myself am considering the leap to become a SQL-DBA after a similar 11 years of development on many platforms, including, SQL (2000, 7, 6.5), Oracle (7,8i), VB, ASP, etc.
RE: The New DBA - Making the leap from developer to DBA (posted: 12/21/2004 12:27:36 PM) From experience, the difference between a developer and a DBA is that the DBA has to follow the rules. There is no room for creativity in Dta base admin...cretivity usually comes back to haunt a DBA. :)
