[Return To The Podcast Center]
What ARE Podcasts Anyway?
Podcasts are just audio files - files that you can play on your computer, in your iPod or other MP3 player. You decide when, where and
how you want to listen to them. Keep in mind though, at their simplest form, it's just a matter of clicking to listen to the program directly
from the SSWUG.ORG SQL Server Podcast Center.
How Do I Use Them?
You have a couple of options when it comes to listening to SQL Server Podcasts on SSWUG.ORG. First, you can simply visit the site and head
to the Podcast center at http://www.sswug.org/sswugradio - the SSWUG Radio home page. This page will always list the podcasts available and
you'll be able to listen to them from your computer, right from the page.
RSS? What Is That?
Podcasts are also available from RSS ("RSS" or "RSS Feeds" or "Feeds") - a system of standardize files that let you be automatically notified when changes or new podcasts are
posted to the site for playing back. You have to have an application that will read these feeds in order to use them. Once you have
the application, you simply plug in the URL of the different sites you're interested in monitoring and the application will keep a watch out
for new content to retrieve.
You can get information on our RSS feeds here.
